Lol. Although I think that looks amazing, it's a little too labor intensive for me

I agree 110%. No what he did was center the letters mark them where the openi gs of the grill were, then drill akd tapped for bolts. I plan on something similar with mine. Bending that metal is gonna suck to do right and I don't want to ruin it.

I did a legit Satoshi just for that reason. I would rather do some fiberglass and bondo work than have to bend the mesh. I'm too much of a perfectionist to have to get it to look right bending it. With the true Satoshi the mesh just follows the contour of the grill meaning you don't have to bend it.

Finished up my grille yesterday (thought I did at least). Here are a few pics of the painting and end result:

After painting and allowing the clear to dry for about an hour and a half I got anxious and started attaching the mesh. While doing so, I damaged the paint in 2 spots on the front . You can't see in the photos but in the bottom left corner the paint was shifted and bunched up revealing the primer below and on the right side there is a scuff mark.

I could just leave it but it would bother me too much so it looks like I've got some sanding to do and some more painting next week...

Aside from that, I think the color match turned out great!

I want it to lay nicely on the grill but be non destructive to my mesh in case I want to remove it later down the line.

Any ideas?
I've been lucky that I've been able to center all the emblems well and have the nubs protrude through the mesh diamond.

I stack some washers on the back to make it flush with the nubs then use #8x5/8" SS sheet metal screw in the middle and a nut or small washer on the other nubs.

3M Molding Tape
Amazon.com: 3M 03614 Scotch-Mount 1/2" x 15' Molding Tape: Automotive

@zopperman mentioned using this. I was skeptical at first and thought the emblem might fall off on the freeway, but this stuff has a VERY strong bond between my grill and emblem. I tried pulling at the corner of emblem the other day and it was so strong, it felt like I'd probably pull off the mesh before I pull off the emblem

Yep, I was gonna use bolts, but it was too annoying to get them all aligned, so I taped it. Stuff is really strong. It's different for me since I have separate letters too, don't forget

Definitely flat. I would have gone with flat black myself but chose to have my mesh powder coated by the company I purchased it from. With your white runner, I think flat would look the best.

I also noticed that Bay Area Metal Fab now customs and sells the raptor style words for anyone that doesn't want to do it themselves

Raptor Letters

it can be purchased saying either "toyota" or "tacoma", the latter of which probably wouldn't make much sense on our rigs...

this seems to be for the letters only, mesh is not included

another possible emblem that can be used is the 4runner emblem from the rear hatch of the 5th gen

I believe this is the one used by @zopperman

I used that one, correct. I modified the R's because they looked silly. I may sticky this. I'll think about it for now
