4WD in reverse ?

I was wondering can I engage 4WD in reverse?

I have a long driveway and if it snows durring the night and I need to put it in 4wd when I back out will it go in? or is this not a good idea.

Yes, you can. It works the same way as going forward, as long as the gears are turning it will engage.

When engaging 4wheel drive it is best to do it by coasting because the gears will engage more gently. Engaging it under load can be stressful to the gears.
