4.7 manual trans

Did the 4.7 ever have a manual trans in any configuration? Is there a flywheel/ belhousing that would mate to the 4.7?

No. These engines are geared more toward sub, truck towing and payload character. In that world you want an automatic, as much of the superior torque curve comes from the splendid fluid force magnification you get from a auto transmission.

My bad. Thought he was talking about 4runners in general (which haven't had a manual since 2000.)

Toyota has never offered a v8 with a manual transmission but theres a company in china that makes a bellhousing kit with clutch flywheel and bellhousing to mate the v8 to an r series trans....im in process of putting a 1uz (4.0 all aluminum v8 from an ls400)in my 92 pickup
Its about 1300 dollars if you go on ebay and search 1uz bellhousing it will come up
