there would be a market for this im sure.
once the R&D was done, it should be a simple matter of pulling the old junk off. bolting on the new stuff, routing a cable into the cab, and attaching it to a control box. boom. manual, remote t-case shifter.

I wish I had a broken t-case and actuator, I would work on it....
Reading on pirate4x4 and a few other sites, it's been done plenty of times. I was just reading the other day on FJ transfer case swaps. There are a few SAS'd 4th gens here and on pirate, and I'm sure they have switched to a manual transfer case.

This guy swapped his Tacoma out and then made a switch on the dash for the ADD.

you're saying they've swapped the t-case? I know that can be done.
I was talking about just building a manual shift linkage for the existing t-case.

Apparently that's been done as well. Search over on pirate4x4.

Yeah, everything I've read seems it's a guy who made it himself. I'm reading up on FJ transfer case swaps and converting the front to manual locking hubs.

Just a little update to anyone interested. Saturday we were able to disengage 4LO from my T4R. As suspected the actuator was frozen solid but we were able to get some silicone spray in there and connect it to a 12v power supply and that was enough to spin it free.

Once reassembled we took it down the road and had to play with the switch but once we did it popped right out and has been fine since.

Now to get to that actuator we had to take apart the gears for the center diff lock and I haven't been able to find anything for the correct timing on that. If anyone has a link to a thread for that timing or just happens to know it, it would be much appreciated.

I have an 05 V8 4Runner the CDL was stuck so we replaced the t case with a used one and now the it's stuck in 4lo. Any suggestions on what to try?

Second, if that doesn't help. Tap the actuator with a brick or a big hammer to see if you can get it to unfreeze if it's stuck.
Thanks!!
