Front passenger side window rattle

Just wondering if this is a known issue? The passenger side front window constantly rattles with any vibration like it is off it's track. However, it goes up and down fine. It rattles whether it is rolled up, half way, or down. It looks like I will have to remove the door panel and see what's going on inside, anyone have any tips or done this before? Thanks.

check out the video section... there's a video on youtube that shows you exactly how to pull the panel apart.

Did you ever find what was rattling? Mine does the same thing...

I was thinking of removing the panel to see if there is a loose screw or something in there.

There are two screws that secure the glass to the regulator. Both of mine were loose creating the noise. It was a very simple repair but you'll need to remove the speaker to get to the forward screw.

Awesome! I'm gonna open it up and fix it soon. Good to know about the speaker.

Window rattle

I'm having the same problem with my 4th gen. Passenger window rattles on the freeway and makes a buzzing noise when rolling up and down. Dealership quoted me 500 to fix. HALP!

Mine rattles recently on the driver side when the window is closed all the way. The sound seems to be coming from the top of the glass, specially when there is lot of wind outside. But, the articles above has pointed me in the right direction. Will open the panel and see what could be loose.

Hey, mine is doing something similar to this. It sounds almost like I’m the roof rack area but toward the top curved part of my drivers side window. Do you have the stock roof rack or aftermarket?

That's exactly where the noise is coming from my 4Runner too. I have the stock roof rack.

Yesterday I checked the window glass and it is tight and no play. So it must be the rubber seal on the windows or the roof rack.

Youtube algorithm threw up this video this morning and I am going to check this out if the alignment is a bit off.

Fix Toyota Door Big Gap or Window Wind Noise by Adjusting Door Striker - YouTube

Update : I don't think it is anything to do with the door. It was the rubber seals. One had literally kind of widened due to the vehicle being in the sun last couple years. So I pressed it in with my hand and now the noise is gone.

Have to apply some silicon for rubber and kind of moisturize it.

Update : The rattle actually came from the seat belt tensioner! Moved it up and down rapidly and pressed on the cover and it is gone. Here is a similar issue with Tesla and I think this could be the same. Will open it and see if the noise comes back again. You might want to check the belt tensioner part.
