deal on scion T1819 Stereo $90

Scion frs stock stereo

someone just list a T1819 for just $90 up in the LA area. No affiliation. Pretty good deal for a plug and play head unit with Bluetooth, nav option and hd radio.

Maybe a dumb question but I'll ask.
Is there a way to have a AUX/jack input?
Or is that the point of Bluetooth audio?

I've never used that so I don't know how it works. I have a iPhone 5

Thanks again!
Bumping my question.

As far as I know, this unit does not support an aux jack. However you can get a USB harness or just use Bluetooth. If you have an iphone 5, Bluetooth will be your best option. Bluetooth is how I stream all my music from my iphone 5 through this unit.

The Aux in the armrest compartment still work after I installed the unit. So I can either use Bluetooth transfer for music or I just simply plug my phone into the aux port.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Working on a 05 limited with a JBL radio. I have one adapter that doesn't work.

On my stock radio, it's the plug on the driver side, but looking at the adapter, it appears to be the power/ ground plug.

See attached photo where I've laid the adapter on top of the factory plug. Pic is sideways. Left side is adapter, right is factory plug.

Any suggestions?

*edit* working with a buddy who owns a stereo shop. Thinks he knows of a Metra adapter that will work with the JBL Synthesis

Beginner Question, what does this get you over stock?

I ask because I am in the market for a 06+ 4th gen 4runner. While the JBL is nice, most of the used ones I'm finding don't have it. So lets say I have a stock 06+ radio. I already plan to get a $100 Garmin, and probably a pro.fit mount ($60). I never considered an aftermarket head unit, but I'm already spending $160 on a nav system so might as well see what another $300 will do (seems like they are going for ~$500 on the FRS forums w/ the nav unit.)

Obviously it has a snazzy touchscreen interface, and the nav would be more integrated than a portable Garmin. It has Bluetooth to phone. It has HD radio, which stock does not have, right? Can it play DVD movies? I really don't care for internet apps or anything else I could just use my phone for. It doesn't seem to be worth it for me, but again I'm pretty ignorant as to what these aftermarket units can do.

Grabbing mine this week! Fully loaded with gps module. Now just need Bluetooth mic. Can't wait.

*****edit***** the following could be incorrect as I was only relaying info I thought I understood*****For those wondering with JBL, it is my understanding it will work fine. You will need the same parts you would need to install any aftermarket radio. When installing the firs radio,it's the same as installing a pioneer radio. No difference.

Anyone have the stock navigation toyota stereo they're wanting to sell? I might be interested depending on price.

I'll edit my post. It was my understanding that one just needs the normal set of jbl adaptors wired in as any aftermarket radio would.

I have a few questions....

For those of you have done FRS radio upgrade

1. What are your thoughts so far? How is the Bluetooth and phone interrogation functionality and Nav if you went that route?

2. Has anyone with the JBL synthesis system done this upgrade? Does anyone know if this is possible?

3. I am looking to buy one but can only find them on ebay/craigslist for $400+. Would be willing to pay $250 ish if needed but I noticed some of you were able to score them for $100 or less. If anyone had any input on where to find one relatively cheap let me know please.

Thanks in advance

1. I love it. It works great for me and Ive never had any problems streaming music or making calls. I do not have the NAV thought.

2. No idea about the JBL.

3. I may have one for sale in the next two days. Im upgrading to a Tacoma headunit. If it fits the 4Runner, the Scion one will be up for sale.
