TRS: Morimoto Elite HID bulb question

Long time listener, first time caller.

Forgive me ahead of time if I have sinned and this topic has been discussed previously. I used the search button, but couldn't find anything that helped. I'm looking to purchase this system for my '06 sr5 v8. I know I need the H11 bulb, but not sure whether I need the 3five or Xb35 bulb.

I'm also debating between the 5000k or 4300k. Based on what I've read in other posts, I'm leaning towards the 4300 since that is what most new cars come standard with. Is there any reason why the 5000k would be a better choice?

I'm also planning to use the 3five (35W?) ballast. If I understand correctly, the 35W provides less output but has greater reliability and produces less heat.

I'm planning to follow these threads for installation:

blue4run - Low Beam HID install

4RunnerRon - HID Install for 2006 4Ruunner

Thank you in advance.

i chose the new bulb xb35, do 4300k for the pure white output. the new bulb is much better than the older version. 35w is fine for everyone, no need to 50w, i find myself that i dont really need that much output on my retro.

Thanks Rice,

The new xb35 does sound like a better bulb. My concern was more geared towards the position of the return wire. The 3five's are the regualr H11 which has the return wire located on the top of the bulb, whereas the xb35's are H11B's. Their return wire is located on the on bottom.

I guess if you have the xb35 (h11B) and you're not producing any shadows, that must be the correct bulb for our application.

I have the xb35's in mine. I always pick up my kits in person, and they told me to go with the xb35's for the best fitment.

Thanks everyone for the help. I decided to purchase and install a lift before tackling the lights. I'll be purchasing the xb35's @ 4300K soon.
