Again with the Leaks!
I was looking around the underside of our 4runner today when I discovered treachery.
I have no time in the next 10 days. Is this leak so bad that it needs to be corrected immediately or do you think I can wait til late next week? Thanks for the opinions!

If that was my vehicle I'd crawl under there and figure out the source and then fix it asap without driving it (much). It may be a band, it may be a tear (can't tell from the pictures... )... good luck. If it continues to leak like that (regardless of the source) you may end up buying a cv axle instead of a boot band.
in case you need it after the milkshake gets cleaned up.
best case: Replacing CV bands - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum
intermediate stop gap/ tear containment: RESCUE TAPE Self-Fusing Silicone Tape: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific (if it turns out you have a tear this stuff ma get you by until you can get it replaced....)
worse case: http://lotusdevelopmentllc.mybigcomm...nd-gen-tacoma/

Looks like a loose band and the boot is pulling back.
Clean up will definitely tell.

Looks like the band is loose and cocked to one side a bit. Clean it up, install a new band if it looks good and see how it goes.

2 things:
1. Do this, but I'd suggest re-booting at the same time, as it's not that expensive to do, and re-banding/re-positioning the band may not solve it, because the band may have gotten moved by slipping due to a (not obvious) tear.
2. Everyone remember this day.

And since where being CERTIFIED now. I would personally get some marine stainless steel hose clamps to re clamp with.
There's a thread in here somewhere about them. Napa sells the grease packs with the right amount of grease (4oz.) for each side also. How do I know, been there done that.
@ Stuck CAPS
- I'll let you have the credit on the research on the bands when you find the thread.
