sulfur smell & redirected exhaust
for those of you who have redirected your exhaust so that your tail pipe is behind the passenger side rear tire - have you noticed a change in sulfur smell when the rear window is down?
how much did it cost to redirect the exhaust?

i do not notice the smell nearly as much as i did when it was a straight shot out the rear of the truck. I think some of it has to do with better exhaust flow velocity (*i have magnaflow*) but also the redirection

I also redirected my exhaust out behind the right rear tire. The smell is A LOT better, but it still creeps in from time to time. The problem we are all having is that the air flow under the truck wraps around the rear bumper and up the back of the truck. That is why when the rear window is down, it f'n reeks!

Sorry if this isn't quite on topic but...
I had the Excessive Sulfur TSB done on my 4Runner a few weeks ago.
THE SMELL IS GONE! :awais: :awais:
I had a co-worker drive behind me while I did some "spirited" driving today. He couldn't smell anything even under heavy acceleration.
WAY COOL!

do you have to replace the muffler when the exhaust is redirected? what would you estimate the cost to be if you simply moved it to the side?

I used the same MagnaFlow tip asMomo75 (see my signature for the part #.) They cut the resonator off and turned it out. Search Magnaflow tip or resonator or stainless exhaust and/or under Momo75's posts.

Snap315,
Did you get it done at Tustin toyota?
I think I might go in and get it done on my V8.

I turned the pipe out the side and had s.s. tip added for $25, it helps a little......mainly looks better without the big resonator under there.
The TSB did help a little more but the stink is still there under heavy throttle.
