Newest Addition to the T4R Community..

Edit: I'M SORRY THE PICTURES ARE ENORMOUS I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PREVENT THAT!

Hey guys, last week I purchased my first Toyota 4Runner (2006 SR5 4x4), and I'm really looking forward to some quality years with the machine. Please don't kill me if this is posted in the wrong place!

I've heard a lot about "plastidipping" after reading through quite a few threads on this site, but I have never seen a clear explanation for how it is done, what tools are required, where the spray is bought, etc. I love the plastidip look, and would love to put some on my new car! Attached are some pictures of my T4R, please feel free to make recommendations on what to dip, what not to dip, and most importantly, how to do it.

I apologize if those pictures turned out really funky, I'm not sure if I did that right. So- if you have a dipped silver 4Runner, go ahead and reply with some pictures of yours so I can see how it looks!

As a side note, thanks for having what seems to be the best forum community out there. Any help is greatly appreciated

congrats on the purchase...

as far as plastidipping goes.. just google it.. there are a bunch of youtube videos on it.. spray it on and peel off the excess... easy day.

Where in NC do you live OP? I've got a buddy that pretty much dipped his whole truck, if you are nearby, he may be able to give you some pointers... You can find it at Lowe's and Home Depot, and other hardware stores... Just use painter's tape, to mask the area, and use several coats, starting light, and then just keep coating until you are covered... then peel the tape before the dip gets too tacky...
