Was given a set of 34's....after the trimming and tinkering I love it.

All that I read lead me to believe that a V6 is calling for a re gearing at 33 inches and up. You don't have to but it would improve the feel a lot. V8 is affected way less. There was a nice tread about gears somewhere..

PS I just installed 255/75r17 which is 32" and I feel the difference in power but not to the point where it bothers me. I wouldn't want go heavier/bigger tier and actually very happy with a result.

I wish I would've done 255/80r17s instead of the 265/70r17s...

I'd like a little taller and narrower tire and I have sufficient lift, camber, and offset to run them.

Absolutely. I’m currently running that size in an A/T with no lift, only rubs in full lock when reversing. With your leveling kit you’d be in the clear.

Yes, I'm running 265/65/17 on a +15 offset FJ wheel with all stock 213k mile suspension. Stock 4th gen 4runner wheels are +30, but I don't think that will make a huge difference if you're also adding the leveling kit.

I just bought my 4 runner with 265 Duratracs on it, they are half worn out and loud. I think after the Cornfed lift 2/1 that 275's will be going back on it. Just need to decided between Ko2's or Wildpeaks.

I have 265-70-17 highway tires on mine and haven't noticed any rubbing.

NJShadow93 -- are the Duratacs 265/70R17? I am putting 2" spacers (Dynofit) up front on my 2008 SR5 and replacing the factory 265/65R17s (finally).

3 inch in the back a little less than 3 in the front, 285s are perfect. I went 295 for a bit and it was too much but still worked. The 265 just looked weird with the lift.

If I could find a set of a Tacoma axles in 4.10 or 4.56 I would plan to go bigger.

Think it all depends on what you want to do with your vehicle. Mine is getting used to drive from Pennsylvania to places like Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, etc, so fuel mileage and power are a factor.

For something to toy around in locally? Meh, wouldn’t matter in my opinion. Just have fun with it.
