All of our axles are rebuilt in the USA in one of our Michigan locations and come with a lifetime warranty against defects. Do you have any specific questions we can help with?

I guess the biggest concern would be in the details of how they are rebuilt. Are all OEM joints and axle shafts used?

I've gone though Autozone, etc. aftermarket rebuilt axles and they all failed in my book for not using correct joint (would bind a lot sooner than true OEM), axle shafts weren't the same OD as OEM (would leak at output seals), etc.

There are some cases where we have brought in outside pieces for rebuilding, but typically that is only done if the OEM cores that are coming in are consistently unusable on one end.

Most of our axle cores come to us from either junkyards or local mechanics. Sometimes the axle we receive in to rebuild was an aftermarket replacement, but the vast majority are direct OEM pulls that are rebuilt.

We do have OEM sizing information that has been recorded and is used during the rebuild process.

We are already looking into expanding our facilities because we have gotten into new part lines. Keeping up with the demand is always a challenge, we moved last year from our 20,000 sq ft facility to an over 80,000 sq ft warehouse and manufacturing space and are already nearing the capacity. Expanding comes with it's own challenges, but if the demand is there, we will rise to meet it. We would like to be a well respected major company in the aftermarket industry and plan to get there through quality.

Just curious, you mentioned starting with OEM cores but you didn't confirm if you rebuild with new OEM parts like shafts, boots, and joints.

Can you maybe clarify the reman process you guys use and follow and where the needed replacements are sourced if not OEM?

As mentioned there will be a lot of interest if these are really OEM quality remans.

We replace boots with 100% Neoprene boots that we import from a factory in China that is under our ownership (80%) and another factory that we have been working with for about 6 years (20%). We have been importing U-Joints from the same place for around 10 years. Boots are not just a general boot for all applications but are specific to match the application being used. There are several boots where it's the same boot across several numbers, I believe we have 1200 SKUs of Axles and around 500 Parts of boots. (I don't have exact numbers available).

When we find a factory that produces quality parts we stay with them. In offering a lifetime warranty on a part with a small margin, we have to be confident that we won't need to go through the cost to warranty the part.

As we've been expanding, we have continued to improve our quality by investing in the right tools to have a good finished product. Our return/warranty on Axles is around 1 per 700, (higher if you include people who purchased the wrong part).

i will second that question...I have a leaky boot and will be going down the route of repair/replace. I have nothing but bad luck with AAP/AZ parts. Does anyone have any comments on detroit axles?

My experience

I ordered one of these for my driver's side. When it came in it was only about half way assembled and missing the rest of the parts. You have to send it back before they refund. After 9 or 10 calls over about 3 weeks they refunded my money. The customer service folks were nice but had no authority. I have no hard feelings but if the passenger side needs replaced I would look elseware.
