Misfire/rough idle fixed for free

I've noticed that my '08 V6 has often idled a little rough, I'd even say it feels like a periodic misfire, for some time now. After some searching on here, I read that some people have trouble with Autolites, so I pulled a plug this weekend to see if I had installed Autolites a few months ago (couldn't remember what brand I installed - sure enough, Autolites). While I had the engine cover off, I also decided to pull the MAF sensor and give it a good cleaning. I also noticed a good bit of carbon buildup in the TB around the throttle blade, so I cleaned that too.

Engine purrs like a kitten now, even without having changed the plugs. It really did make a lot of difference, so it was worth the 30 minutes of work. I plan to do the math after the next few fill ups to see if MPG improved a smidgen, but I don't really care about that.

In any case, maybe this will help anyone who is experiencing a rough idle. It's a quick and free bit of maintenance that may help out.

Yeah its really weird, even Bosch seems to cause some issues sometimes.

I've found when it comes to Asian and German vehicles its best to stick with their respective brands.

i.e. Toyota- NGK/Denso
MB/BMW/VW- Bosch, ect.

Domestics don't seem to be as picky for some weird reason.

I'm almost embarrassed that I started this thread because it's so basic, but then I thought that maybe there are some guys who are relatively new to things and would appreciate the tip. Such a simple maintenance procedure really made a world of difference.
