07 4Runner Outer Window Seal Replacement Questions

Greetings, I have an '07 4Runner and have noticed the outer window seals are starting to go. Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to replace these. I might as well do all of them if I can. The back window need it's outer seal replaced also. Thanks in advance.

Ok, not the same but looks a lot like it. I had the same thing happen to back window of my 04. It was a big $27.00 gasket (can't remember the proper Toyota name) and got it from the local dealer. It (the cover) was held in with clips - just pry off the cover and then peel up the old busted up gasket. Put the new gasket on and old cover. Go visit your parts guy and if he has it in stock you can replace it in 5 min in the parking lot. Hope this helps.

I just did this. Here are part numbers, they were the same for pre and post MCR.

They were pretty easy to replace. When you open the door, there's a Torx (that asterik like head) screw that needs to be removed. The old ones slide out, the new ones slide in.
 
Got the parts in and replaced the weatherstrip moldings on all 4 doors and the rear hatch. Installation was a breeze thanks to everything I've read here. Everything fit perfectly and went quickly. Many thanks to all! :)
 
Wow, cool. The stripping on my 04 Limited rear window has been going and I often hear water trapped in the door sloshing around. I asked the dealer about it last time I was in and I think they quoted me $325 to replace it. What a bunch of crooks.
 
The rear window molding was the easiest of all to replace for me. But I had taken the rear door panel off before. One bolt and pop it off.
 
I did all mine too, on a 2007 S.E. V8 The bummer is that they don't last long. These seals are still good on my 1985 4Runner. What gives??
 
2007 4Runner Window Belt/Weatherstrip Replacement

I looked at the replies and went to the Toyota dealership to purchase window belts. I bought 2, one each for the driver and front passenger windows:

6816235060 & 6816135060 - WEATHERSTRIP FRONT DOOR

Total for both was $67.36

Easily located the starhead screw (doorhandle side of rail) and removed.

The old one slid out and the new ones slid in easily.

MAKE SURE THAT THE NEW ONE SLIDES IN PROPERLY. MUST BE SECURELY IN PLACE. (MAY REQUIRE A SLIGHT ANGLING WHILE SIDING IN.

glad I came across this as mine have seem better days too.

If those window trim pieces are just held by a torx, I plan to remove mine and hit them with trim paint and be done with it.
 
Ok guys,

today I head out to the garage to swap these window seals.

I start with the passenger side front. I remove the small torx screw and begin sliding the seal towards the rear of the car. It moves about an inch or two and then stops up against the spit weld on the door pillar. i then think, the only direction it can possibly go is up. I start tugging on it but it wouldn't budge. I was pulling so hard that any harder would have ripped of folded the seal.

I go to the driver side and the exact same thing happens. What's going on?? Am I missing a step?

Please advise, thanks.
