Battery issues (I think?)

My 2003 4-Runner was running fine for a year after I bought it used and then suddenly, it wouldn't start after being driven. I opened the electrical box and pressed down on all the connectors and it would start back up. As time progressed, that "fix" stopped working and the battery was drained when tested...even new batteries that I bought hoping that would solve the problem. Now, for the first time, it actually stopped running while I was driving it. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they claimed they couldn't recreate the problem and had no idea what was causing it (even though they certified it as a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle when they sold it to me). I took it to another shop and he also couldn't figure it out. I can't believe I'm the only person having this issue. I have seen other people speculate about the alternator and the connection from the alternator to the battery. Has anyone found a definite cause. I'm having it towed, now....

Sorry to see you're having this issue but recreating what I suspect is an intermittent short is very hard to find. Do you have any aftermarket electronics (stereo,CB, lights, etc) installed? Are there any consistent situations that seem to trigger the problem?
