Yeah I probably could, I'll PM you.

Just so know, I'll be waiting for an update. I'm glad I checked the forum before purchasing.

I plugged it in to mine and it appeared to work fine, so we think its installation error.

Does anyone know if these instructions can be followed for a 5th gen?

I just received mine, conveniently the day I get new wheels and tires. So that's good to know. Thanks.

Apologies for the drama and confusion it wound up being a 100% installation error.

Was originally spliced into the incorrect wire for ground. My fault for rushing the install and not paying attention.

All is working as expected now.

@JONBOY345 I'm curious as to what was the behavior when you had it installed incorrectly? Was your speedometer sporadic or just dead?

It was dead. Wouldn't even move. I do have a strange behavior right around 55-56 MPH where the needle drops rapidly for a split second before returning to either 54ish or 57ish depending on if I'm accelerating or not.

Edit: The needle drop issue here was a known issue with the speedohealer firmware. They replaced mine under warranty free of charge and after about a month of waiting for it in the mail.

Here's the layout of the C9 & C10 connectors for those who will be adding this in the future. I would double check you are using the correct pin and not base it just on wire color. I thought I had hooked up to the "brown" wire only to find out later that it was brown with a red stripe. Red stripe was difficult to see in low light. This goof caused my VSC and Engine light to come on, the speedometer to not work, and the fuel gauge to float between empty and the actual level.

Yep. That's exactly what happened to me. Installed originally close to dark and couldn't see what I was doing very well. I should have mentioned it but was in a hurry when I made my last post. Glad you got it figured out.

Thumbs up

I just finished installing mine the same way as OP thanks to the write up. I guess the only complaint I have is that there’s a dead zone between around 0 and 5 mph before the needle moves at all. But now when I’m going highway speeds it’s much more accurate. A small price to pay. Not like I ever look at my speedo when accelerating that slow anyway...jus an ocd thing.

Yet ANOTHER thing I need to add to my Amazon wish list I keep seeing SpeedoHealer for specific bikes but not the universal ones mentioned in this thread. I suppose I can order any random units made for any random bikes then just cut off the bike specific connector and make my own pigtail!

update: SpeedoHealer emailed me with the correct p/n for the universal unit: H-V4 + SH-U01

@BlackWorksInc thank you for the detailed write up. Followed it exactly and was pretty straight forward. Speedometer is right on now. Just installed mine last night.

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to say thanks for the detailed instructions. I added the speedohealer on my 2008 4Runner and it worked great for my 285/75R16 tires.

I dove a 2007 Tacoma for 14 years before I got the 4Runner. On the Tacoma I used the Hypertech inline speedometer calibrator, which you hook up to your computer to program (old tire size and new tire size), then plug and play. It was a very simple installation, but the speedohealer gives you more precise adjustability.

Holy crap I can not get this to work on my 5th gen. Has anyone successfully added a speedohealer into a 5th gen? My 2015 is not cooperating in the least. I've intercepted the wire from the skid control at the drivers left kick panel and the speedo has not been effected. There is not a VSS wire that I can find in the wiring diagram. There's an SI and then a S+.....

...please help...lol
