Vin#

Used car dealer gave me the VIN# of a '98 4Runner Ltd he has on his lot. They aquired it from an Auction. It's in unbelievable condition. Looks showroom, literally. Runs well. The odometer reads low.

Is their a site or place I can prove the actual odometer reading along with the previous owner's info so I could contact them....?

if the car dealer bought the vehicle locally, your MVA/DMV should have a record of transaction.
if ya are able to get these info from them, please let us know.

As part of a privacy act I don't believe the DMV is allowed to give out previous owners information.

The best you can do is check the carfax of the vehicle. That will tell you if the mileage is consistant and which city the vehicle was registered in.

Call your Toy service dept & have them run the vin, can determine where purch, any warranty work, ect, ect, ect... Be nice to the cashier where it was originally purch or serviced & you can prolly get copies of the service orders.... on which you will find the prior owners info, simple see?

So far good advice given , but when I bought a used car I demanded that I get prev. owner contact info if they want to sell the truck.

You gotta move fast,or it will be gone. I know 4R's that are good cond. & used fly off the lot's around here and usually at a premium $.
