Need help. Just broke a hard line on the brakes

Was trying to install some new soft extended lines and the coupling for the hard line to the soft was so rusted we thought we were spinning the nut but actually were spinning the hard line and it snapped. Any suggestions or help. I'm down visiting in Richmond VA and would appreciate any help or expertise that you guys have to offer

Run over to your local farm store or automotive store and ask to see the "metal /brass connections". There should be a "union" that will work and you may need to purchase a few more other pieces to complete the job. Easy fix, really.

Let us know, if you have or need anything else.

I had to do the same thing a couple days ago. You can buy precurved lines at the dealer for about 15-20 bucks each. Or you can go to your local parts store and bend your own for 5 bucks each. The tube bender is about 5-8 bucks.
Get 3/16th lines. And 8" long the thread pitch is 10mm x 1mm. They are called flared brake lines. You dont have to flare these they come premade. Just need to bend them. Hook up one end an start mendjng they are pretty malleable. Then adjust and bend to fit the other end. See pics. .

Thanks guys. Going to the auto parts store now and will see what I can come up with. I actually ended up ruining the rear line so don't think I can get that guy from the dealer for that cheap. Think I am to go the route of getting a expansion fitting (the brass fittings). And see if I can just replace the risted part of the lines. Will post pictures later. Thanks again

Longer lines are easier to bend. Just make sure the fiting is correct or you can reuse your 10mmx1mm fittin you would need a flaring tool.

Alright so today was a long day. Got a lot done but need some input on whether or not I should have someone redo my hard lines or should I install them. Right now I have the compression brass fitting on but pretty much have been told that it should be temporary and not a permanent fix. Also the major it of all my lines have are getting rusted out near the ends of them. And when I say rusted I mean its almost eaten through the entire line. So to sum it up. I feel confident on doing the fronts. The distribution block of some sort at the front is basically rusted to the frame. so getting that out is going to be a huge PIA. But other than that the rest should be relatively easy (for the front). Doing the rear is another story...Do I need to lower the gas tank to get the rear brake lines out/installed. I will most likely just buy all parts from toyota, as it will be pre bent and I really don't want more of a nightmare than what I am already going to have to get all this crap off. Rusty bucket! Only positive is, much easier to upgrade when the parts are falling off.

Got the Total Chaos UCA's on today, brake line fixed, brand new calipers and pads, body mount chopped, and full system bled. Big Day!

They are not temporary. If you bend them with no kinks your fine. I hope you did not ask advice from the pimple faced kids at the parts store. These lines are teflon coated. Shouldont have an issiue for a long time.

Yea what you have is fine. I''m speaking primarily about the compression union that I had to use between the existing hard line and the new hard line. Definitely not a permanent fix. Going to the stealership today to price out an all new hard line system and see what kind of a headache this is going to cause me. Almost all my hard lines are rusted at the fittings that go into a soft line or into some sort of distribution block. Not sure how this happened. Car is only 7 years old. Effing salt I guess!

So if anyone wants to get there hands dirty in the next few weeks and lives around Alexandria, va. Let me know!
