Yosh2000, which bulbs would be brightest for the info display? And would they be brighter than the OEM?

I don't mind trying the radio shack route and purchasing two bulbs and threading the sockets myself but after watching the YouTube video in this thread, it looks like I should be seeing 12 volts on the circuit board.
Can anyone confirm?
Thanks!

I hate to resurrect and old thread but I'm having a similar experience. Had a light out, purchased new ones from the superbrightleds and replaced them. Neither light worked, put the old one that had worked before back in and now it doesn't work. The Reset, Mode and Airbag lights all still work but the display does not. Curious if anyone had any ideas?

Superbrightleds say their bulbs only work when they get between something like 9- 12 volts. I only measure 6.x volts where the lamp is supposed to plug in at my climate control display circuit board for my 2004 4Runner. People claim they work but I assume my mileage is going to vary. I found Dorman incandescents with the plastic bases at RockAuto for less than $2 but you have to buy 5 at a time. If you want to buy at RockAuto look under "miscellaneous light bulb" in the "Electrical -Bulb and Socket" section for your vehicle, and make sure to check the Toyota part number with the Dorman alternate part number. I also found some "grain of wheat" 7219 incandescent bulbs with pigtail terminals on Amazon. They are rated 12v but they worked. You have to install these in the old bases. $7 for 10 pcs. I had to use my jeweler's magnifying headpiece to see what I was doing. My wife can read the 4Runner display again with these.

Has anyone replaced just the LED window part 81942A? Mine is badly scratched up from the previous owner. I wondered how ez it is to separate from the module.

Per the dealer 81942A is just a sticker. I was able to pick up all the bulbs for $40. Since I will have it out I will change them all at once.

Per the schematic in the initial post; which diagram applies to the Sport Edition? The Limited or the SR5?

I have one as I mentioned. Please see pic. Some paint came off around the edges on the back. I would think that’s an easy fix. The screen has a small dent in it, heat gun May fox that. PM me.

Thanks for posting that photo Sparky. I ordered a new one for $13. Toyota dealer said he was only showing 3 in the entire country. When (if) it arrives I will have everything I need to be able to read the info center and HVAC controls.
