If you disconnected the battery then the auto function of the windows / sunroof needs to be "normalized". Put the rear window all the way down holding the button. Then put it up all the way holding the button & keeping it held for a second or 2 after it's closed. Should work after that.

Exactly. You'll also have to cycle the driver's side window fully up and down once before the auto-up/down feature will work again.

Is there a way to "normalize" without activating the rear window? My rear window actuator is finished, rusted out. If I put the window down I will have a heck of a time getting it back up.

so i have siimilar situation. just replaced dead battery and lost some function at rear window.

window goes up/down from the button on dash.

but- turning key at the rear gate doesnt work the window up and down anymore.

wipers dont work. its 65F outside so no idea if defroster might be working or not.

and i need new battery for the key fob so no idea if those buttons will work the window up/down, but im guessing no?

in any case, is this a re-initialize situation? or more likely i have a blow fuse somewhere?

thanks

Brainmedicine - run the window FULLY up and down a couple of times using the dashboard switch. It'll relearn the closed and open positions and your defroster and wiper will start working again.

You'll know if your rear defroster is working when the confirmation light inside the defroster switch comes on.

i did the full down-full up-hold button for 3 seconds routine. now it works from the rear with the key, wiper working as well.

seems it was just the battery change, not a fuse/relay blowout. still havent gotten new batteries for my key fob but im assuming that should be working now too.

thanks
