Steering Wheel Shaking

Soo my 2004 Toyota 4runner has a problem. Everytime i exceed speeds of about 50 mph, my steering wheel begins to shake. I seem to think its becuase of my wheels not being balanced. Is it that big of a problem, or should i get it fixed asap. Any advice?

Your wheels/tires just need balancing most likely. No big deal.

Don't go 50 mph.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Start by checking wheel balance.
You can swap the fronts and rears first to save some $.
If the fronts are out the problem should go away when you swap.
If it doesn't, could be the rears are out also, but more likely something else.
If problem does go away when you swap them then go get them balanced.
