2006 4Runner v6 A/C issue

So my wife informed me the other day that the A/C was giving her issues in her 06 v6. The A/C will not always come on when she turns the A/C on. I've looked around the site and haven't seen anything that directly answered this issue. She can drive for 5 minutes or so and then it will come on while she is on her way to work. no A/C light flashing and still blows cold or hot air when it does work. Im thinking it is a blower motor relay but not sure and help will be appreciated.

Check the relays. There is a thread on here that talks about getting a different relay for the magnetic clutch I believe. I'd start there.

I have a 2005 V6. My mechanic works 6 days a week Says my evaporator core is done. They replaced the AC compressor two years ago and it cooled great. When cars get 15 years old things break. I have a new evaporator I purchased off Amazon for $100, and they will remove the broke one and replace. Last time I talked it was a $300 job.

He charged it one time and it held for two weeks.
Not a big deal now cause it is winter.

4Runner is practically trouble free at 150,000 miles. After this I would never buy anything but Toyota.

You are a cheap dumb bell AH. This is not my thread!
My mechanic is the best in the Bahamas and works 6 days a week.
Jerk!
He said it is evaporator core issue. They are less than $100.
Installation is $300 and a big job. Some wanted $800.
Tell us what you do and what you fix.. Ha! Ha!
Silly troll.
You on a two-week timer then you show up?

Send us pictures of you working.
A link of your accomplishments.

I am not a mechanic but know who to call when I need one.

Go get a job.

I'm a consultant. I bought the 42 Performance 15 years ago, Ran it on many 100 mile round trips and caught hundreds of YFT and dolphin (including a 71.1 pounder landed in the Marlin Marine Tournament that is probably the biggest ever. (Won 2nd - the winning boat had more weight)

Know what to do when you have a steering failure? Using my tabs I got home without any steering. Push the starboard tab down with the switch and the boat tacks to the left. Push the port tab down and you goto right. Got home from 100 miles offshore this way at 40 MPH, without calling the coast guard or begging for a "pick up" or tow! No Steering.

In all my year's boating I never called anyone for help except 4 miles from port a few times when I ran the boat out of gas.
Called a buddy with a boat parked next to mine. I took him fishing many times, so he bought me a 5-gallon jug of gas..

I'm about 95% sure firebirdguy was saying it wasn't the OP evaporator that was the issue in this topic, he wasn't referring to your evaporator, but your post seem to be telling the OP it was the evaporator, I think you overreacted in your reply yo him.

you are 100% correct! it was a simple comment that this thread was over 6 years old & the captn's post had nothing at all to do with the topic he replied to.... as usual!

captn: whoa, why do you insist on turning everything into an argument & insulting people?

2 week timer? im on here every day.
pics of me working? LOL!

my comment was saying this thread is over 6 years old & had absolutely nothing to do with an evaporator core or how many days your mechanic works.
