Hi to bring this thread back to life.

07 4Runner v8 sr5
Driver Air bag light on.

Codes are b0101 and b1181 open in drivers squib and open in drivers squib (2nd step)

Ordered clock spring from eBay
Looks like an exact match.
Disconnected battery

Replaced cable smoothly
Hooked up battery

Cleared codes

Rescanned. Codes still there.

Bad cable? Something else ?

Double-check all your connections, also make sure that the connectors on the back of the steering wheel airbag are properly seated and clipped in.

Airbag

I have a 2004 4runner. My airbag light came on and stays on. I have checked my cables underneath both driver and passengers seats. All are secured. My horn and seatbelts works just fine. I haven't gotten an OBD check yet to see the code.

Does anyone have a link for the YouTube video on how to replace the clock spring? I found one for a 2006 Tacoma. Would it be the same?

In case anyone stumbles across this thread like I did, this YouTube video was very helpful! Just note that the lower steering wheel cover has a third screw on the bottom unlike the Tacoma in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VblczY9PzMc Overall an expensive part but a fairly easy fix!

Reviving an old thread since I'm having the same issue. 2007 SR5 4x2 V6. Solid SRS light. It started out about 6 months ago and some days the light would come on and some days it would be off. Now it's been on permanently and the shop failed me on state inspection for having the light on (its questionable whether or not that is something that can cause a failure, but it is what it is). I have code B1181 open circuit is detected in the D squib (2nd step). I've checked all the cables under the seat and at the airbag module. Still on. I ordered a new clockspring assembly. Still on. At this point, I am left to assume it is the airbag itself which would be the most expensive part of the circuit to fail. Any advice or guidance appreciated.
