4th gen limb lifters

After many wheeling trips on tight north east trails like so, I got sick of branches hitting/scratching the crap out of the truck.

So I ended up making this. Still needs to be trimmed, cleared and the top brace needs to be pop riveted (currently only JB welded). But it's mostly all done.

Made entirely with easily available home depot materials:

Ok, now what are you going to make to protect the sides as that's where you would probable get more scratches at going through stuff like that or spots tighter like I go into at times.

I was going to attempt some wet sanding and buffing to try and remove some scratches on the sides. And if I am successful, I plan to 'wrap' the metal part of the doors and fenders on both sides with clear 3M vinyl. You can get the vinyl from metrorestyling for not much $$, and without getting too creative in cutting it to shape, I was planning on applying it in large rectangular slabs to the metal sides to keep scratches at bay.

But all this is predicated on me being able to remove some of the scratches / pin stripes that are already there. If not, I will just give it another year and pay for a repaint.
