Brake caliper question - which caliper mfg doesn't lock up?

With 221,xxx miles, my 4Runner is in need of a third pair of front calipers. I could have sworn I read on this forum there is a specific caliper manufacturer whose design does not permit the pistons to bind or in some way or more reliable in that aspect. Is this true and can anyone help with a suggestion?

There are very few manufacturers that make calipers for the 4runner. When you go to the parts store to get calipers you're buying re-manufactured calipers. Last I looked I think the cheapest NON Toyota new caliper was well over $500. I bought the NAPA remans with a lifetime warranty. Now on my third free set.

I also bought Napa remanufactured with lifetime warranty for $52 after the core charge is returned...

None of them.

I'm ready to replace my first front caliper. Should I replace both or just the seized one? My passenger front had seized. I've been looking into Advance Auto with lifetime warranty as well. NAPA is little more expensive and they're all remanufactured anyway.

I'd say replace both and note that my current calipers are from Advanced Auto and lasted two years before binding...well actually its only the passenger front but still.

I did the Napa ones, which turned out to have Toyota castings still on them, but they have the lifetime warranty which I fully expect to use. Not sure why the calipers are so bad on our trucks...
