According to Toyota, the 4runner has these numbers:
Approach angle = 32 degrees
Departure angle = 24 degrees
Breakover angle = 22 degrees
The approach angle is very similar to Prado...maybe different bumper design??
The departure angle is very different...maybe due to spare tire and hitch?? (Prado carries the spare outside the cargo door, NOT underneath like in 4runner.)
The breakover angle is also different. I don't know why. I haven't had the chance to check out the fuel capacity between Prado and 4runner. I wonder if this may be due to a bigger fuel tank in the 4runner???? Could it be that the Prado have taller springs, resulting in higher body (but ground clearance stays the same due to identical axle height)??
Another possibility is that Toyota is not accurate with the figures...that is, different regions of the world measure it differently.
I don't know.
