hey EDGE,

i wanted to get away from the Luxury cars. 40k is enough to put in to a vehicle. it has taken me serval years to come to realize they're not worth it. having to worry about where to park, when to drive in certain weather. i will definetly miss the power of CLK55, but it was bound to get me into trouble one of these days.

Hey Khaug

I just want to make sure I really understood what you said about the CD Changer. I ordered my 2003 4Runner LTD 4WD w/ NAV and 2 sales people at Toyota stated there was a CD Changer with the NAV system. I asked them to make sure there was a changer with the NAV system. Even another sales guy stated that the NAV system is really not 2k but $1500 because you get a CD changer with it.

And does anyone know why Toyota isn't producing Black 4Runner LTD's. I could get any other color with the options I wanted, but not in Black. So I had to special order it and wait 8 - 12 weeks. But it is worth the wait

As far as I know, there is NO CD changer that comes w/ the NAV. The only thing you can get the the NAV is a single CD & tape deck as standard.

And for the Black LTD 4Runners, I saw one with NAV (but was one of the salesmans). No clue if he special ordered it though. At least you've seen the 4Runners with NAV. I haven't seen any at all, except for that one.

Thanks TLuuV ....I think LOL

So the 10 speaker system is not included as well. I think I am gonna have a little chat with my sales guy tomorrow. I wish I joined this group last month before I ordered it.

Well, I guess I'll have to some how put in my Alpine system that is in my 98 4Runner.....and if that is the case, I'll get to keep the XM Radio (satelite) which really is awesome that Toyota isn't offering yet.

No problem 4Runner2003.

Check out the thread that Thai provided
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...?s=&threadid=3

It has all the information that you'd need when it comes to information about the 4Runner. Especially the pdf. I certainly helped me out. When I approached the dealer, I was telling him everything about the truck. And I mean EVERYTHING. He was soon telling me that I should work there. haha

CD-Changer and NAV

The NAV system includes a single in-dash CD/cass player as well as an AM/FM radio. It uses the same 10-speaker (JBL?) sound system as the cd-changer version.

My salesmen also assured me repeatedly that the NAV system included an in-dash cd-changer. When we got it home and realized there was no way to do what the salesman had told us, we were furious.

I am happy to say, however, that there is a solution. After one month of phone calls and e-mails, I am happy to say that today my dealership installed a 6-disc cd-changer in my 2003 4Runner LTD 4WD V8 w/NAV. The changer takes up about half of the basket space in the center console and is completely integrated with the stereo and steering wheel controls.

The cd-changer is not standard with the NAV system and the NAV system w/1-CD stereo does have a list price of $2,200 or so. I cannot get through to toyota.com to see what, if any, option price is attached to the changer in addition to the NAV system.

Stay safe ...

Todd

I'm also trying to find out how to ad a changer to my NAV system. i can't find any dealers who know what the hell they're talking about or doing. There's a spot in the glove box that fits a changer yet no one knows how to get it, install it, or find it. Can you help me figure out what model they installed in your 4Runner. just curious but does it also play DVD's (movies)? that's ultimately what i'm trying to do. somewhere out there there's a stock or OEM 6-disc DVD/CD changer that mounts in the 2nd compartment of the glove box. i just need to find it. Thanks for your help.
