I offer premium Timken bearings in my assemblies with a warranty for $169 each, $330 for the pair of bolt on hubs assemblies. Check out my thread, the feedback speaks for my products

Why are those bearings inferior, and what is your source?

Quoted from their listing .."Asian wheel bearing (similiar to the China made Napa Proformer wheel bearing)"..
The Chinese bearings are manufactured with a low standard & less strict tolerances than say the premium Koyo bearing. I can put together a complete hub using a low grade Chinese bearing for about $135 but I would not be able to give it a 12 month/12k mile warranty & I would not recommend that anyone buy it.
My source is me. I am in this business & know what bearings are out there for our trucks -- from the low end bearings to the high end masterpiece bearings that I use exclusively

Again, where are your facts? There is a big difference between opinion and facts. I am always skeptical of anyone in business who bashes their competition with words and not data.

I don't have one of the kits that are sold on here, but I have the same thing, Koyo bearing and dorman hub with oem bolts and seals. Works great. If you have access to a press you can make it for a little less, I paid $100 for the bearings, $30 for the hub and maybe $20 for the seal and bolts. If you have to pay to have someone press it together though may as well buy the kit from the forum guy.
Anyway, my Koyo and Dorman hub has been holding up great.

Where did I bash my competition? I stated a fact that they use a lower quality bearing in their cheaper hub assembly. I also stated that I can build the same assembly with the same lower quality bearing for about the same price, but I choose not to.
I do not manufacture the bearings. Being an ASE certified mechanic & having 8 years experience as a machinist, I can tell you from my education & work experience that there is a difference between the lower quality & higher quality parts. As a machinist I made parts from lower strength metals with broader tolerances and lower quality control. I also machined parts from higher strength metals with tighter tolerances and strict quality control. Being a mechanic I have used many different parts from many different companies. All I can say is you get what you pay for.
As a consumer you have a choice of quality over quantity. You can go into Harbor Freight & buy a ratchet for a dollar or you can buy a Snap-On ratchet for $100. Which one do you think was manufactured with better parts & will be more reliable?
Do you want to be off the grid and have a wheel bearing lock up, or would you like some peace of mind knowing you are rolling on a good quality part? I started building these assemblies for myself & friends because at the time no one offered a 100% bolt on hub assembly at a decent price. I have the tools & knowledge to these & I really enjoy helping people out.
Like I said you have a choice
