X-Reas and Air Suspension

I'll be ordering an 04 Limited, because I can't find any with the Nav in 4X4 with a V8.

Is the X-Reas worth getting? Has anyone here driven both X-Reas and non-XREAS?

How about the air suspension? Is it worth the extra grand?

Hawk

If you're planning to tow, then I'd suggest getting the air suspension as that will be very useful.

If you don't plan to lift the 4runner at all then I'd say get the X-Reas System.

If you do plan to lift the 4runner then you really don't want those features as when you lift it, you'll end up removing those parts anyway (just save $$)

Hope that helps

X-Reas is awesome, after having the truck for a year still to this day I pass others on ramps doing double the speed, truck really corners good with it, I find myself behind others wondering why they are going so slow It is worth it if you like to move around corners

The Rear Air has come in handy many times, I've loaded up to 1500lbs into my truck and the rear stays leveled, but watch out when you onload cause the truck will shoot up

I've read that others have said that a lift will be out for the X-Reas equipped trucks, only time will tell

Thank you for your replys. Today, I ordered a a mica blue 04 Limited 4X4 with a V8, tan interior, Nav, X-Reas, side curtain air bags, spoiler and cargo tray. The dealer is unsure whether the order will be accepted, as they said most Limiteds in California don't have X-Reas and are unsure is the factory will allow it to be built.

I drove a sport today with X-reas and noticed some benefit. I figure for $350, it is worth having.

The price they gave me without tax and license is $39,200. The dealer said that price is about $700 over their cost, a deal I get through the Autoclub of Southern CA. Anyone have any feelings about this price?

Also, does the Nav radio automatically come with a changer? Or is that an option?

Eric

I think the dealer can give you a better price. How much was the sticker price? I was able to get my 03 V8 LTD 4WD with everything except nav and air suspension for 35K (sticker was 40K), and I think others were able to get their 4R's even cheaper (relative to their sticker prices). Good Luck

Toyota decides what options are more popular in which areas of the country. Apparently, they think that Limited buyers in California don't want X-REAS on their 4Runner's, so they decide not to ship any here. It's why I didn't get some of the options I wanted on my 4Runner.

As far as I can tell, what Hawk said about no X-REAS Limited's in California is true. I checked my dealer's stock and all the 04 Limited V8 4x4's (except those with 34d row seats) have the following options:
50 state emissions, JBL 6-disc with 10 speakers, curtain and side airbags, spoiler, DRL, moonroof and floormats.

i was told the same thing. hopefully the policy is different on a special order.

if i can't get x-reas, i can't get it. i can live with that. but they better let me at least get nav. does anyone know of the nav comes with a changer, or is that an option?

I hope you guys are aware that you can also purchase vehicles outside the state too and have them ship it to your work/home

I've done many purchases in AZ for vehicles that I couldn't find here in SoCal. This might be a viable option for all of you guys that want the XREAS on the limiteds. Oddly, CA dealers are reluctant to search outside the state but all the out of state dealers have no problems searching across the country for your vehicle.... darn cali dealers!!!

Since the 4runners are 50 state, it doesn't matter where ya get them from .

FYI, shipping from AZ should be well under $500.00. I've usually gotten them for around $250 from AZ to the heart of Los Angeles..

Good Luck!

Or you could fly to Arizona and drive it back.
