Does the 03-09 4Runner V6 have a throttle position sensor?

Hi guys,

I have been searching the parts outlets today and can't find the OEM part number for the throttle position sensor on a 2006 4runner 4.0L V6.

Did our cars come with a throttle position sensor? If so, does anyone know what the part number? I can find a TPS for what seems like every other car but this one.

Thanks,

Luke

I could be wrong but from what I have read the TPS on both the V6 and V8 is a part of the throttle body and can't be replaced, you would have to purchase the throttle body, but as stated I could be just misinformed on this, hopefully someone else can confirm or otherwise post if this is the case or not.

I am having an issue where the car occasionally won’t accelerate when pushing the pedal but everything seems like its running fine.. if I restart the car it works normal. This is an 03. Is that a similar problem?

I am having the same issue w/ 2016. Throttle becomes unresponsive while idling. Check engine light comes on. Engine remains on.

Hey I just had a problem in my 08: While cruising on the highway, the throttle cut out, as if I took my foot off the gas completely -- actually I first noticed it when the cruise control shut down.

The throttle become randomly non-responsive; if I pushed it pretty far, it'd finally 'catch' and it would accelerate, but it continued to cut off randomly.

It did throw a MCU code and my check engine light went on. I fought with it on my 2 hour drive home. A couple of times I had to pull off the highway because the throttle would become completely non-responsive. When I pulled over, the car was still running at idle only. Only after turning it off/on did it work again.

The first day in the shop, they couldn't reproduce the problem. Drove it home; next day it acted up again, so back in the shop.

They couldn't repro again, but they did say that the brake light switch threw a code, so, thinking it might be related, they replaced it.

That fixed it; seemed the faulty brake light switch was messing with the throttle inputs. I read this same issue and solution somewhere else on the 'net, so check into that. Even though it was in the shop for more than two days, they only charged me for the brake light switch and labor; around $100.

When the throttle cut out did you loose all power? Radio, Lights, Ignition... or just the throttle? I am loosing all power but just for a few seconds then it cuts back in and runs fine. No codes.
