Should hold 28 gallons and hang below the frame rails 3". Two opposing float style vents going to the charcoal canister, ordered ones for a jeep YJ which is what Genright uses. Fill tube is the large one on the side, will have a 1.5" Tanks Inc. flapper/roll over valve in the fill neck. The port right above the filler is another YJ float vent which will connect to the stock filler neck vent. I believe this helps vent when filling with fuel, and when the valve closes off (when tank is full) it helps stop the pump nozzle. I'll chop up the stock metal fill neck as required and use hose the rest of the way. Then relocate all the evap stuff to where the stock tank is.

Got the YJ vents in. Tested with a glass of water and a straw, they block off when the water level reaches the top, and also block when inverted like in a rollover. Nice $12 find. Similar parts on Summit are much more expensive. Will finish designing the tank this weekend and send to the shop to fabricate next week. In the meantime I will brush up on my aluminum welding skills.

Shop at work flaked out on me to build my fuel tank.

Currently getting it quoted across town, it'll be pricier than at my work.

Been chasing issues with my Tundra and haven't driven it in months, one rear drum brake is heating up ever since installing new studs and wheel spacers, and rear brakes are clicking. Ordered centric drums, shoes, pads, and rotors and will deep dive into the issue at some point. Feels like drums aren't centered on the shoes and self-adjusters are clicking to compensate when braking. In the meantime been daily driving the 4Runner again, she does great.

Sent the purchase order to have my fuel tank lasered and bent.

Total was $641 for aluminum tank and steel skid plate. I'll do the welding myself.

Might just weld the skid plate to the bottom of my bumper, under the frame rails. Makes mounting it simple but means I have to drop the tank if I ever remove my rear bumper.

I'm dreaming of that high-clearance belly where I don't have to worry every time I crunch the stock fuel tank skid.

Any extra capacity and improved weight distribution is a plus.

Picked up a fun used toy. 2020 Specialized Fuse mountain bike (cause we have so many mountains in Kansas)

Got a Yakima 4 bike carrier, need to make the bike more level though.

Have a big Colorado backpacking trip planned soon and been training for a marathon while doing my normal gym stuff so only had time for a single local 10 mile ride.

Sadly I'm out of space to work on it unless I rent storage for the Celica in the garage which I'm considering, or wait for my parents to move out in a year or two once they finish building their house. They get the left side of the garage and I get the right.

Pics to keep me motivated over the winter. 21" ground clearance vs current tank has 16". Tank might fit tight under the body, might need to trim body bracing or space skid down. But plenty of clearance with the axle. Still thinking I might just weld the skid to the bumper
