Just timed it with my current setup. 285's, 3" lift + 1.5" BL, 200lbs of skidplates/sliders.
3 gallons of fuel left in tank, AC off. 8.05s

So I lost maybe half a second with all things being even. The vvti V8 doesn't care.
Did another couple 0-60 runs today. 8.85s

This time 35's, front/rear bumpers, D60 w/ 4.88s and my homemade x pipe/muffler section.

Slowly finishing the dual system, still using clothes hanger wire instead of proper 1/2" SS rod, but got everything welded today to fix the couple exhaust leaks. Sounds amazing, I'll post a video as soon as I can find some free time when there isn't any wind.

Also our Dad bought a Heap I mean Jeep this weekend, to follow us through the trails. Pretty similar to one he had in highschool/college.

He says it needs a louder exhaust and a rear bumper fabbed up and he knows just the fabricators to take it to.

Here it is with the new equal length dual exhaust. I hate to make you guys this jealous.

The old video with equal length Y pipe into single Dirty Deeds catback for comparison:

Yeah if I can find a dyno shop in the KC area maybe, and if they have an AWD dyno even better. If not then I'll need to remove the front driveshaft and lock the center diff for a rear wheel dyno I guess.

Might as well get the AFR tuned as well after the comparison testing. I might try to build an aluminum air intake for it first, though an off-the-shelf intake might be better for comparisons sake.

For pricing, here is what I am thinking, if I can find time to make jigs for everything that is. If any of you are still interested let me know with a reply, but I don't want to start a list or anything more serious yet as I don't have much time for production at the moment.

$900 for a 2.5" Equal Length Y Pipe. Material cost is fairly high for this one ( the Y merge from Vibrant alone is $100). I think this is reasonable considering the URD one is $650 shipped, not equal length, and 2.25".

$650 for a 2.5" catback system with a center in/center out muffler/resonator of your choice, like my Magnaflow. I could build this one dumped before the axle or mated to the stock tailpipe probably.

$TBD on a dual system which requires building/purchasing both the X pipe and muffler sections, and have them dumped before the axle is the easiest so tailpipe delete. I would probably use an off-the-shelf X merge instead of the one I built from scratch to save a boatload of time.

Everything is 304 Stainless.(Except the mufflers are usually 409SS)
These include shipping/hardware/gaskets.

The dual system sounds so damn smooth, on acceleration it now sounds like a SC400 or GS400/430 instead of a truck! How's the drone from having it dump before the axle?

Very smooth sounding, yes.

Drone at 75-80mph is somewhat tolerable. Drone at 60mph is awful. It sounds so deep under heavy throttle, the camera doesnt really pick it up, but it has a ton of bass and feels so good past 2000rpm it seems to really kick in. I dont trust my butt dyno much but I know the theory behind it and it seems like under 2000rpm it might be a hair more sluggish.

I was surprised when they said my weld table was finally done today. Perfect timing for Thanksgiving break.

Barely fits:

Finished the weld table, had to do some rearranging to fit it in my stupid garage. Went together very easily actually, really happy with it.

Do you think dual 2.5" slowed down exhaust velocity enough to affect lower RPM torque?

It sounds different and I know the theory behind it so I'm not sure if its placebo or actual, or maybe just the top end increased and low end stayed the same.

I think a dyno test would be the only thing to tell us for sure.

I think they recently updated their website too, looks like they list their AWD dyno rate at $100/ 3 runs.
Still thinking outloud here but I could test:
  • OEM Y pipe w/ 2.5" magnaflow, dump
  • 2.5" equal length Y into single 2.5" w/ magnaflow, dump
(This would give comparison of stock Y vs equal length Y)
  • 2.5" equal length X into dual 2.5" w/ magnaflows, dumps
(This would give comparison of single vs dual equal length systems)
Does anybody have a stock Y pipe they could ship to me for testing?

Just a thought...with this DT Header group buy going on I am positive that a few in there will be replacing the ypipe along with the stock manifolds. You may want to inquire there as well. The parts ship out this month too.
