Help me build my 07 sport v8

I have an 07 sport v8, all stock with 98k miles. The timing belt and all other maintenance is up to date. The wife and I want to go on a camping trip next Sept. It will be the two of us, 3 70 lb. dogs and our luggage for 4-6 days. We will be staying in cabins and a tent that attaches to the rear of the 4Runner. I would like 32-33" tires since it is my daily driver.
I use it to tow my RZR and trailer (2800 lbs). I am seeking advice on a lift, wheels, tires, roof rack and anything else I may need. I've been looking through the pic thread and see so many great ideas. I have $3k US to spend on this build for now. I will start a build thread to keep you all updated on my progress. Thanks.

Do you plan on taking your 4Runner on offroad/rocky trails, or will it all be well groomed paths? You could get away without skidplates and sliders if you're not traveling over obstacles. You also don't necessarily need new wheels unless >295 size tires are wanted due to their width. However, Method, SCS, and FN all make some tempting options (you'll need at least a 17" for your sport brakes). For tires, Cooper makes the ST MAXX and AT3 I've heard are good. Suspension: Bilstein 5100's are a pretty common upgrade on all 4 along with lift coils, but if you have the spare change (might want to jump on the black friday deals), Icon's coilovers will make it ride even better. I've tried my best to answer, although there is about a million options out there; It just comes down to your personal uses or taste.

Thanks for the reply. I might do some moderate off roading. My sport wheels are going to be my winter wheels, they look like hell. I'm leaning towards TRD wheels with 32s. I see at least one silver 4Runner everyday, it's time to make mine look different. I'll look into the Coopers, I've had good luck with them on my other cars. The 5100"s and springs seem like the way I'll go for now. I'm also looking for a good rack and where to purchase it

From what I've gathered in searching for a roof rack is it all boils down to how much you want to spend and the quality. You can get a gobi rack for >1000, baja racks make some nice racks but they're not as sleek looking as gobi IMO for around 800-1000. If you're looking for something on the cheap then you could do a rola rack with extension and lowering kit for around 4-500. You might be able to find someone selling a WMW rack on the classifieds section but they're hard to come by but if you can find one I would jump on it without hesitation.

I would also look into the BFG Ko2's they're a great option for all terrain wheels and I love mine.

There's currently a set of front radflo coilovers for a great price in the for sale section that look to just need top plates and to be charged with nitrogen if that is any interest to you.

I run Old Man Emu complete suspension lift from Toytec & BFG KO2's in 275/70r17. Perfect setup for me. I love it. Details are in signature.

You don't need any of that crap to go car camping and tow a side by side. Most of that list will actually make your truck worse at what you're using it for.

Everybody including you knows this is your actual goal, why not just say that in the first place? Go nuts on your mall crawler, but don't pretend that this is a "build" or that you need any of that bling to get where you're going.
