is correct. The new design allows it to be easily installed onto the top of the stock strut assembly.
Anytime you mess with the suspension where angles/height change, it is generally highly recommended that you have an alignment. That said I personally did not get one and had no issues. But I also only ran my daystar spacer for 2 months tops as I went full OME suspension shortly after.
