LFD looks like a great option for keeping the factory rails. But part of the attraction to me on replacing the system is to widen it a little bit more, and the ability to attach an 8 ft awning to the side.
Victory 4x4 looks great. Super similar to Prinsu, but the main difference seems to be the bracket design for mounting to the roof.
I came across a Westcott Designs video (they only do a 5th Gen rack), but they were comparing theirs against Prinsu, and explaining that Prinsu bends their aluminum side rail for the mounting bracket, which can be a weak point. From everything I've reviewed, I feel like this is true.
Any thoughts on this??
Looping back to Victory 4x4, they have steel brackets for mounting. I feel like this is note worthy for long term weight distribution.
This guy only gets a mention because he drives a 4Runner, he features the option of
DIY. While some need excuses to buy tools, spending thousands on tools to save a couple hundred on a rack isn't my goal. But I still appreciated his video for this thread
