Windshield wipers and dash light bulbs.

It's been a while since I've had "melon head" questions. Now I have 2 ...

1. I replaced my windshield wiper blades a few weeks ago. What would cause them to skip across the windshield?

2. On the dash, just below the radio, I have that part that tells me the outside temp. A few of those bulbs are out. Does anyone know where I can get replacements without going to the dealership?

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

I had those bulbs out and couldn't find them anywhere other than the dealer. You can get an aftermarket bulb and solder it into the existing socket but then the color wont match. I ended up getting them from the dealer, I think they were about $8 a piece.

Thanks Brad. I appreciate the reply; I'll call the dealership. Any ideas about the windshield wipers?

If the wipers are brand new and totally dry they can often times skip.

For the bulb, look up part number 90010-09017 on eBay. Just replaced one myself. Got it for $6 free shipping.

I don't know about the wipers. I'm in southern California, therefore, the media tells us a huge tropical storm followed by a hurricane and weeks of thunderstorms are approaching which will lead Los Angeles into declaring a state of emergency. It will then sprinkle for a few hours.

For LED bulbs you can go here...

https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...panel-led/220/

Note that the high power ones (also found on this site with HP in the title) are for 12V operation. The ones linked above are good at the 4-6V output at that portion of the instrument panel. If you choose to use LEDs they may not work the first time because they need to be oriented correctly (polarity sensitive). If they don't work at first, flip them 180deg in their socket.
