Hello, I bought the same system used on facebook and wondering how the harness is connected. I purchased the Tyto-01 JBL amp harness.

Can you share any picture, if have taken for the wiring.

Thank you

one more question: did any of you just walk in to Best Buy, pick a well-reviewed unit and get Best Buy to install? Results? Was the price reasonable? It looks like a basic install is not too expensive... I dunno with added JBL amp harness probably adds labor

Installed it in a matter of minutes!

What I don't like is the VOLUME of the Bluetooth.
You have to crank the sh*t out of it to hear a caller...
which means you have to turn it down real fast when the call is over,
or you'll blast your ears.
The navigation was "meh"...until I got the latest map update and upgrade.
Works much faster now.

Cheap also compared to some of the others.

Bluetooth on the new units works great along with calling.

Navi works but is outdated (doesn't understand traffic)

They give you a bypass to illegally watch movies while driving

rearview camera is easily installed.
How are you guys doing with this Android radio? I know it's been awhile, how are they holding up? Thanks!

Mine still works great!
I am not overly thrilled with the Navi...
(lacks some features that are in a Garmin)
but the radio, USB player, and bluetooth work just fine.

Mine is awesome! Love how it works and it survived a summer in Texas. I do need to find a good GPS map application to run.

Thanks for the update guys! I'm going to pull the trigger in the next couple of months (long story) and was wondering about these HUs "long term wise". The model I want is very similar to the ones you guys have. Like i mentioned before, my OEM NAV CD changer has stopped working and it's going to cost me $350 to get it fixed.

I wanted to upgrade the factory unit in my 2007 but keep it looking as "stock" as possible. I wasn't looking for a premium audio upgrade, just needed touch screen + bluetooth + USB capability in the truck.

I went with a 2015-2018 Yaris head unit (PT546-52150). It's almost identical to the Scion head units people have been installing but has Toyota branding instead of Scion (something that was going to drive me slowly crazy...).

To install this, you will need from Toyota (hat tip to @Southernbike for this part list):
PT546-00120-AD Antenna harness
PT546-00120-CH 28 pin conversion harness
86190-0C020 USB-mini jack
PT233-47100-WH USB harness
PT546-00120-US USB conversion wiring
PT546-74120-MC Microphone kit
On the USB wiring, you will need to trim a tab off of the connector to make it work. Very simple.
For the antenna, you will need these. They adapt the two 4Runner antenna wires into one.
Scosche Mda-B Micro/Delco Antenna Adapter Tip
Metra 40-UV43 Male to Female Motorola Antenna Cable

I love the look.

I really like the look of your yaris unit^.

I have a 04 SE with jbl system, just installed an open box unit from ebay for $35 (it sells for $55 on Amazon), BT/aux/usb very similar to the GTA kit, it connects to the 6+6 connector and plays via CD on the HU.

Only thing out of the ordinary was that my 6+6 already had a harness connected to it, not sure what it leads to as I do not have a cd-changer or a navi, so I just unplugged it and installed the unit instead. I checked all speakers for sound including the pillar ones and they are all firing, and so far spotify sounds amazing through the BT and the aux.

No more FM transmitters

Hello everyone! '07 SR5 4WD with 90,xxx miles 'bout 72 hours old to me. Stock radio lit up, but only had one door tweeter working (on Ebay as parts radio). Immediately had it swapped out for a Kenwood Excelon DNX696S and JL Audio C1 component speakers.

Very clean sound and dedicated navigation. Haven't had a chance to play with other options, yet.

Can you share what the make and model is that you bought? Everything seem to be working well still?

I have the same one, and I hate it. Came with the vehicle so I have yet to install something different. I want something that looks factory and classy, double din screen but with some physical controls like seek and volume to make it look more stock.

Can anyone tell me which part to look for to replace my original head unit?

I had a 2008 SR5 with the upgraded JBL Synthesis system. About 6 years ago I replaced everything. New Pioneer head unit 5500BVH with steering wheel controls and aftermarket backup camera. All Infinity Kappa door speakers, Infinity Kappa Amp, and one 12" JL sub.

I threw out all the original parts thinking I would just sell it with the new system, but now I'm wanting to trade it in for a 2016-2018 TR or Limited and I don't need to give the dealer all my nice equipment. My Pioneer deck just burned out so I'm taking it as a sign to put original deck in and trade it in.

I can do anything from full replacement stock equip to just buying a $200 head unit and giving it back with that and the Kappa door speakers so I don't have abunch of labor. Take my sub out and maybe the amp and go on my way.

I'm open to opinions, but if putting stock head unit is the answer, then I came to this search box on car-parts .com and was confused bc none say JBL

receiver, (CD), Pioneer audio system, ID P1802 on radio face
receiver, (CD), Pioneer audio system, ID P1803 on radio face
display screen
receiver, (CD), Fujitsu Ten manufacturer, (ID 11823 on radio face)

Will any work? Dealer probably wouldn't care or notice if there was no sub so I'm not too worried about that.

Thanks!

I know this isn’t the “for sale thread” but if any of you guys were wanting to upgrade but keep it oem, i have my Jbl nav unit from my 06 limited I’m looking to get rid of. Make me a decent offer, I’ll pay for shipping from 37917 (East Tennessee).

Where were you able to find that specific headunit?
