Not rad: rampant grounding issues in my unit. I originally installed it with just the factory speakers and things were awesome. Then about a month later I had time to install my system (2 4channel amps with door woofers and tweeters, DSR1 signal processor for a fully active setup). I spent the next two weeks scratching my head because I couldn’t get sound on the right side of the car! Result: the right side RCA channels are toast on a brand new unit!!!! Bought it from Best Buy instead of crutchfield like I normally would because I was in a rush before a road trip so now I can’t return it and I have to send it to alpine for repair.

Making it work for now because the DSR1 can take speaker level inputs so I swapped to that for now.

I saw grounding issues because now that I have the speakers working, I have an intense noise floor I can’t figure out. I tried several different grounding configs and all have the same results. My guess is the ground in the HU is wonky and it also what’s affecting the RCA outputs.
Really glad to see so many other people are super happy with the Sony and Ken wood units with capacitive touch. Might be swapping over.
Don't feel too bad.
I thought I was done yesterday, after a grueling month-long install.
Then I was dialing in the amp gains last night only to find the subwoofer channel in MY new amp is dead.

Good news: I did buy from Crutchfield, and a new amp is on the way.
But still...f.r.u.s.t.r.a.t.e.d!

I'm curious as to what backup camera you used and where it is installed. Pics?

Surprisingly no. The unit came with it's own wiring harness and so you just splice the correct colors with the existing harness in your dash. I have more photos in an album on my profile. But the existing bezel fit perfectly with it and that was it. I also installed a steering wheel control adapter, not shown, but that was pretty straight forward enough.
Sorry for the late reply, not sure if you've installed the unit yet. It's a decent unit, although it's a bit slow to connect to phones via bluetooth (which is doubly strange cuz my phone is also a Sony, you think they'd have a special language or something.) Other than that it bumps fantastically!

If it's MP3 then you can use a MP3 editor to get album covers and data and embedded to the MP3. Very similar to EXIF data in JPGs.

Not a double din, but I needed room for switches. Work in Progress.

I'm in the process of installing an Alpine ILX-W650. Didn't realize there are two antenna cables I have to get a y connector for. Hopefully configuring the steering wheel controls to work isn't difficult! Good opportunity to replace burned out lights in the dash too... except they don't arrive for a week....
