I desperately need a picture of a v8 MAF plug wiring picture

Checking my air filter. I clicked the top lid off and it pivoted the tube enough and bam. I guess they're rather brittle.

I had to take apart the plug and solder wire to the pins and extend the wires as they sit.

I have a P0113 code that cannot clear. I've driven it and it won't recalibrate. Unsure what to do at this point.

So im guessing yesterday when i had two wires swapped it must have fried my MAF. I connected the wires properly and was able to clear all but the IAT P0113 code. I've cleaned the MAF and checked my soldering and its all good. I'm pretty much guessing at this point but it seems logical i might have fried the IAT port on the MAF when i had it wired incorrectly.

I'm guessing you had it wired up:

Pin 1- Brown
Pin 2- Blue w/ White
Pin 3- Yellow w/ Black

Pin 4- Black w/ White
Pin 5- White w/ Red

Meaning you swapped Pins 2 & 3 (Yellow w/ Black should be on Pin 2 an Blue w/ White is on Pin 3)

Hmm... it is possible you shorted out the MAF, or unfortunately you may have damaged the ECM.

Blue w/ White is Supply Voltage (12~14v) into the MAF, while Yellow w/ Black is the signal voltage for the IAT into the ECM. According to the FSM, the ECM is expecting .5~3.4v into the ECM to measure Intake Air Temperature; if you reversed the wires that means supply voltage went in.

Now before you panic, that's just a possibility; it may not be what happened. The MAF may not have liked having supply voltage flowing backwards through it (I don't know if thermistors are directional.)

Can you see the DataList (via whatever tool you're using for pulling DTCs) for the vehicle and see what the IAT reading is? If you can back probe the Yellow w/ Black wire (now that it's correctly installed) you shouldn't see voltage more than 3.4v (though you may see it between .5 and 3.4v) which would indicate that the IAT is working as designed and the issue might be at the ECM.

That's exactly how I had it. Only thing I can see is this

I have a "live gauge" on the app for IAT and it wasn't reading anything. The vehicle itself ran great and my other codes from last night cleared no issue and haven't returned.

I'm hoping that with it running fine besides the CEL and VSC lights it's just the MAF that fried. Really hoping it's not the ECM.

If you have a DVOM, back-probe the Yellow w/ Black wire and record the voltage as that's the signal going INTO the ECM, if it's above 3.4v then the thermistor/IAT is toast. Unfortunately the IAT is part of the MAF sensor itself.

I have a new MAF coming in tomorrow from NAPA. I'll check the voltage before I swap the new one in though and report back what I find.

Hey there, I had a wire pull out of mine throwing a code. How did you take the connector apart?
