VSC Off light NOT coming on with CDL and 4LO?

2004 V8 SR5.

Can't remember if the VSC light has ever come on previously. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a way I can manually activate the light to test it?

@BlackWorksInc or anyone else, do you know of anything I can monitor in TechStream to confirm that VSC is actually being turned off during CDL+4LO engagement?

If the bulb is working it should come on when you turn the key on, before you start it. All of the various indicators should light up then.

100% sure about this? I know some lights come on, but do all of them?

Is there any way to confirm that VSC is actually off?

I have the same problem but haven't had time to take apart the dash to test the proper circuits to make sure it's bad LEDs in the cluster.

Have you done any electrical mods?

No. I'm not the first owner so who knows if anything was done prior to me. I haven't come across anything that would make me believe that the electrical system has been altered.

From the 2005 owners manual (page 152).

(j) “VSC TRAC” Warning Light
The light warns that there is a problem
somewhere in the following.
Vehicle stability control system
Traction control system
(two−wheel drive models)
Active traction control system
(four−wheel drive models)
“AUTO LSD” system
(two−wheel drive models)
Downhill assist control system
(four−wheel drive models)
Hill−start assist control system
The light will come on when the ignition
key turned to “ON”, and will go off after
a few seconds.

Can't help you with determining if VSC is on/off without the light working, other than driving aggressively on a slick parking lot and seeing what happens.
