Checked my cabin air filter.....u gotta be kidding me!

This past weekend I dropped the glove box to check the cabin air filter and found this....wtf! Somehow the little basturds (mice) have be gaining access to the filter and having a field day. No damage to the engine bay, wiring or passenger foot well, they just seem to enjoy sitting on top of the filter and eating seeds. I have ordered a new filter....any ideas on how to prevent this from happening again?

This will sound trite, but get a cat. and if you have a cat, get a new one. I have three indoor/outdoor cats and they kill anything and everything within a 300 ft radius of my house that is smaller than them.

Thats 11 years of mouse poop and seeds. There could also be some oil, brake and/or fuel line chunks in there as since they like to chew on um..

The mice climb up into the chassis b/c its warm/safe from predators.

Yep.

Behind your glove box. Open the glove box and pop out the door panel (you'll see where the "hinge" seats in the dash) and the filter is in that opening. Just pop it out... and replace it.

Your post reminded me to check mine - I just recently bought it and it was on my list of things to do. Glad I did! This is after a bunch of stuff fell off, and I emptied it by turning it upside down. Had to go to the car wash and reach in there with a vacuum.

My AC blows colder now!
