Looks like RCI is prototyping 4th Gen Bumpers!

Not sure if anyone has posted this, but I just noticed this on instagram earlier today! Seems like an absolutely awesome bumper design! I have been very impressed with the value that RCI offers in their products, both in terms of performance and price, so I am excited to see what these babies will go for!

Check it out!

It's not just RCI, everyone does it, but it really bothers me to drop that much money on something and then have their logo big and bold.... right there front and center...

Crappy pic...but looks like a nice piece.

I remember back in September Josh hinted that these could be coming. I bet they absolutely kick ass.

Agreed about the logo, however. It's a bit much.

Looks promising, it'll be nice to have another option on the market. I also agree on the logo though, leave it off and ship it with a RCI sticker for those who want to advertise.

Hard to tell from the pic, but will these have built in recovery points like the Shrockworks bumper?

Far more interested in rear bumper designs. I'd like to see CBI get some competition in a full plate bumper with sides that don't have to be cut from the stock bumper. I know there's at least one that's being worked on and I'm waiting to see how his dual swing out comes out. The shape and design of the bumper looks legit though.

What about 4x4 labs? Those look pretty sick. Do they not ship them?

Do they do them for the 4th gen? I haven't looked at theirs, but if it doesn't require cutting the rear bumper that would be a contender. I'm stuck until next tax season for a rear bumper most likely, unless I get an awesome Christmas bonus this year.

4x4Labs does ship his rear bumpers. When I went up to see him and p/u my DIY kit, he had 3 pallet n wrapped up to be shipped out front.

Complete plastic cover is remove and thrown in the trash, you DO have to cut the rear bumper cross piece out of your frame to make his fit. \/ pictures

I love the clearance of the 4x4 rears, but I'm in agreement in not wanting to cut my rear frame. If it wasn't the case I'd sell my cbi rear in a heartbeat to switch.

Why not cut it? The 4x4labs bumper is probably stronger than the stock setup, and the rear frame crossmember can be bought for ~$300 if you had to go back to stock.

Are there any good rear bumpers out there that work with the V8 hitch? I tow with my truck occasionally, and I'm not willing to give up the heavy duty hitch. The CBI one looks like it requires removing the hitch and using theirs.

Guessing it might be the same with the CBI, but I know 4x4 Labs's is advertised as "stronger than the stock towing accessory." I wouldn't worry about the strength. @having fun might have some input on this.

In order to use his bumpers you have to cut it off. And with his bumper, it now has a new cross member in it's place. A lot stronger ( 2x2, 1/4" thick) that give it support.

You have to cut a little more than that off, the 2 main frame sections, you have to cut off 3" from the end also. This is why it hugs the body so tight and gives it so much departure clearance also.

These bumpers bolt onto the same holes as the HD hitches do. The receiver is welded into the new 2x2 cross member and the exterior shell.

Let's just add this, I have a 7k tandem axle flat bed, and a slant 2 horse trailer that I occasionally pull with mine also.

I imagine you could save the cut off pieces and re weld if you wish to go back to stock. Doubt you would though.

Besides, I would hate to see if someone rear ends this thing, versus the stock cross member.
