4th gen drivers side leak questions

Symptom; heavy rain + car parked = wet drivers carpet
I went thru many threads on leaks and causes and rodded the moon roof drains with the weed whip plastic, all good there. Pulled the kick plate off and after much ado fiddling with hose on roof watering the windshield area and watching the area behind kick plate where all the wire looms reside, I see water streaming down between the outer sheet metal(fender) and the inner sheet metal(body).
I have yet to figure out where it comes from!? At the base corner of the windshield under the hood is a "triangle" plastic piece (which I removed as well as the trim strip on the drivers edge of windshield). Around that area are some holes that allow water to flow into but where does it go from there? Directly under the PB stuff I can see water seeping where the inner fender meets the firewall !? I will try to include some visual aids to go with this story. Stay tuned!
I am curious as to all the holes in bodywork in the area all around the hood hinge. Am I missing some plugs? 1st pic not too good, 2nd pic shows hole behind hinge, 3rd pic shows hole in front, 4th pic shows are where water accumulates. Also prev owner says windshield was replace 3 yrs ago and he never noticed wet carpet !?

It's almost always coming from the sunroof drain. Carefully pull down your headliner and with a partner - make it rain. I'm talking as much water from a hose right on top of sunroof for an honest 15 minutes to emulate heavy rainfall.

sr3tlaw, maybe I missed something in my investigation I had the hose on the roof pointing toward the drivers side of windshield, water flowing over part of moon roof and down the edge of windshield on drivers side. I can see the water streaming down behind wire looms and it apparently fills a void under the floor that begins to overflow to the are shown in pic4. I have rodded the moon roof drains and they seem to do the job they were design for, all the water drains out under car in front of running boards. Maybe someone could take a pic or comment on the area by the hood hinge on drivers side ?

This leaks even when sealed and seated proper. You can even see the moisture. I live in Houston and I'm sure you've heard of all the flooding, so I've dealt with this. The other picture is just a general shot of the a pillar with the headliner removed.4th gen drivers side leak questions-uploadfromtaptalk1465414983542-jpg

Thanks for the pics ! I'll let you know what I discover. BTW, know any good links to take down the head liner?

Headliner is a project; plan for a day or two.
Remove all the interior side panels starting at the bottom & work your way up. Will include the rear seat.
May be time to consider soundproofing roof panels while it's down if that's something you would ever consider.
