HELP! 06-09 LED Tail Lights don't work on my 2003

Long story short, after reading that the 06-09 4runner tail lights will fit on my 2003 without modification, I went on Ebay to buy a set of 06-09 tail lights.

I've made sure all the bulbs were in tight making good contact, all the plugs were securely snug, I've also read that plugging both sides in would make it work, but it didn't.

The blinkers don't blink, and the reverse do not come on, but the LED brake lights work.

I've also confirmed that my Bulbs work fine.

Any other things I can try??

Thanks for the link, that's actually the same thread that I used to trouble shoot with, I've made absolutely sure that my bulbs were in tight making contact to the metal pieces. Issue still occurs..Sigh....I guess I'll try it again, hopefully with better luck.

Fuse? Do your old ones work? Your front blinkers work?

They worked great on my '04, fitment was super tight but they work great. (Ordered the TYC brand, but doubt it makes a diff)

My fuse is fine, as my original tail light/reverse/rear blinker/front blinkers work just fine. I ordered the Eagle Eyes brand off Ebay.

I'll have to try and twist it in super snug and see if I was just doing it wrong, there's these little arrows on the bulb holder that let you know if the metal is making contact.

Which twist cap are you referring to as ground? the twist cap to the blinker bulb, or to the reverse bulb?

Which twist cap are you referring to as ground? the twist cap to the blinker bulb, or to the reverse bulb?

If i recall, the one to the brake... you plug the wire into the LED module, then you have to stuff the wires inside and reapply the cap, like in the old taillight. You can't leave it off or the lights won't work you'll see the metal ring on the taillight housing

@helloericlieu did you ever figure out what was wrong with them? I receive mine yesterday and was putting them in today. No matter what I did I couldn't get the reverse light to work on the driver side. Yes, the fuse was fine and the bulb was fine. I put my old light back in and it worked fine......confused

Nope, I ended up returning the taillights due the very same issue you've experienced plus my blinkers not working.

I installed mine last week. I tested this and if you do not plug the gray housing (looks like a bulb socket the plug goes into) and twist it in place, it will act just like this. You get LED brake lights, but no turn signal and reverse light. It is in the write-up listed above, but you can miss that step. That socket grounds the other 2 bulb connections.
