Arrow 4.7 V8 Tundra (same engine as our 4r with 1 million miles)

Found this in detail video about a guy who brought in his 1 million mile tundra for a trade in. Amazing how the car held up. The Fast Lane Truck did an interview with a Toyota Engineer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TL7fyyUNRmA

The "Toyota Engineer" mentions the owner replaced the timing chain on the 4.7 with a million miles. Hmmmmm

350 miles per day, every day for 9 years. That is insane. The condition of that thing too! Wow, something to aspire to as far as maintenance goes.

Yes nothing lasts forever right, I hear you need to replace it around 400-600k.

The point is the 4.7 has timing belt which per Toyota should be replaced every 100k!

I'd be more impressed if it was an older car.

It's not hard to put a million miles on a car if it is done quickly. My buddy has a 3 year old Subaru Outback with 300k miles because he drives from St. Louis to Denver (and back) every week for work.

I'm a little more than disappointed that the head engineer doesn't know that the 4.7 has a belt that should be replaced every 100k. Also, what the heck is up with the hard hat and vest? He's at a dealership, not his first day on a job site. Can someone please brief Mike before he makes a fool of himself and Toyota please?!

Lightbulb It was not a 4.7. It was 4.0.

sorry to deflate the V8 zealots
The original stories on this miracle truck had the engine as a "4.6"L, which told a lot of readers that someone was guessing. The truth is the motor was the 6cyl 4.0L.

Lets hear it for the little guy!

As the newish owner of a gently-used 2007 T4R 4.0L, I sure hope mine was built the same way by the same crew!

NOTE: Mods - Please re-title the thread! Thanky...

It is not the 4.0L. The 4.0L did not have an engine badge on the side of the truck. The 5.7L had the red badge and the 4.7 engine had the silver badge shown on the truck with 1000000 miles.

Watch the video posted as they pop the hood. It is VERY clearly the 4.7L V8. Whoever said it was a 4.0 V6 is a dumbass
