4.7, 114k miles. Most tune up maintenance is up to date. No CEL. I've noticed a few random times lately when accelerating from a stop an obvious loss of power and the engine sounds much louder, almost a roaring noise.
I've experienced a very similar occurrence in my 4.0 Tacoma in heavy stop and go traffic in extreme heat. When this would happen in my Tacoma my engine temp gauge would shoot above the normal half way mark. When this is happening in my 4.7 4runner my temp gauge is always normal at half way and it is happening in only mildly hot summer temps.
Any help would be appreciated.
