4th gen vs gx460
My wife recently got a nice 2013 gx460 and after I've driven it a few time I must say it has made me appreciate my 13 year old 4Runner even more. My observances:
Ride quality is a bit smoother in the gx but nothing that blew me away by any means.
Little more travel in the brake pedal in the gx before anything happens. Gas pedal feels less responsive and kinda finicky where it is kinda hard to modulate smoothly at low speeds.
Acceleration is a tricky one to call because I haven't had the chance to really stomp on it. But It seems like I have to give it more gas than I would have to in my 4Runner just to drive normal.
I hate the rear headsets in the gx, they block visibility. I've also gotten extremely accustomed to using the blind spot mirrors in the 4Runner so any vehicle that doesn't have them irritates me.
Of course there are plenty more creature comforts in the gx that would be nice to have. But the pure sensation of driving just seems better in the 4Runner.
