I have a 4crawler 1in body lift waiting to go in and just had a couple questions. Did you guys have to get shifter extensions? My shifter seems like it would BARELY accommodate being sunk down 1in. Also for those of you with body lifts do you have any regrets? I've already made the purchase but I still remain on the fence. I feel like it will make a nice addition to the dobinsons IMS kit I'm installing and I think it will help accommodate 285/75r17's better. Thoughts?

I have a Toytec 1” body lift, Bilstein/Toytec 3”F/2”R suspension lift and 255/80r17 (33.1”) tires. A pic of my set up is in my signature line.

No shifter extension and no regrets.

The shifter is mounted on the floor board of your body, so it gets lifted with the rest of the truck. The cable that goes from the trans to the shifter has enough slack to make up for the inch of lift.

For someone who tends to know a lot about cars I feel very dumb now, especially considering how often I've taken apart the interior on these 4runners and literally seen the shifter assembly. But once I read the word "shifter extension" on the 4crawler site I threw my brain cells to the wind I guess lol. Appreciate the response!

Thanks for all the responses guys! I'll have to start up a build thread here soon with all the new mods and to explain my long and confusing 4runner history

No worries, love the humility. I actually had to think twice before I posted because its been a couple years since I installed mine. I was actually kind of intimidated by this job, but it wasn't too bad. I recommend new oem body bushings when you do this install. They're not cheap but way worth it. Two years have past and the truck still feels very solid. Best price I found was Partsouq.com.

One more question/ clarification for you helpful people, it's not necessary to do a steering extension if you're only doing a 1in body lift right?

I didn't need one. It is generally not needed with the 1" BL from what I have read.

Sweet, thanks man! I'm definitely intimidated by the job as a whole so I'm glad to not have to deal with that.
