How to spend some $$$

Hey all, I was planning on buying a new 4Runner this year but since we move around so much (Navy) we have decided to wait until our contract is up to buy new. Since this is still about 4 years down the road I am looking to take a small portion of that new car fund and put it into the 06 SR5.

All other things being equal, where would you put around 3 to 4 grand into it? I was thinking of a headers back new dual exhaust system.... not even sure if 3.5k would be enough for that really...

There is nothing wrong with the truck per se, but since we're keeping it for a few more years, might as well make it cooler/more useful/waste money on it.

06 SR5 4x4, 115k miles.

Leave it as is, you won't get back anywhere close to what you put in it when you sell it.

Understood, probably should should have noted I will nto be selling it; rather it will be going to a family member as a 'hand-me-down".

New shocks, springs and tires. I recently updated my 4R and it rids like a new truck. I spent less than $1500 on parts/labor.

Then with the funds left over, go through and refresh all of the bushings, ball joints, etc. to future proof your 4R.

If you're looking to dump money, just buy new factory replacement Lower control arms. Energy grease-ables for the sway bar. Uniball upper control arms. Fresh sway bar end links and tie rod ends. That'll have the front half of your 4R handling like new.

You must be an Admiral then, because most people I've met in the armed forces don't have 3 or 4 grand to just waste.

Take the money, go to Scottrade and open a brokerage account, and for $8 go invest all of it. Four years from now sell off your investment and buy a new 4Runner with you newly earned investment earnings.

Where does one find something like this? I'd like to get a bluetooth set up for phone conversations.
