Yes, programming the chip is a different procedure, and I've never done it. But, programming the remote is a piece of cake.

So, this process isn't going well for me because I'm having issues finding anyone who can cut the blank on this 2-in-1 key. I had one cut last night but the locksmith screwed it up, so I reached out to the ebay seller and luckily he will send me 2 more uncut blanks ($8). I think that may make it easier to get the blank cut almost anywhere, as the FOB kinda gets in the way of the key cutting machine. For others who may have this issue, the link below shows how to remove the blank from the FOB. Might be best to do that before taking it to a locksmith?

A simple ebay search would yield you plenty of results though. Just use something like “2 in 1 toyota fob”

That's the same key fob for the MK5 Volkswagens. I was trying to figure out where I saw one of those before....I had a 2006 Jetta TDI with the exact same key fob (factory).

Wow it is bulkier, although I’ve never seen a remote fob like yours before. My original one is even smaller and rectangular, instead of triangular like yours. I may just get the aftermarket case someone posted instead of the switchblade key.
